COMPANY / History
You can track Prominente’s birth back to the beginning of Argentina’s IT sector professionalization.
It is the need for managing and systematizing data through the development and support of other companies’ systems that drives our mission: to “Add value to our customers transforming their processes through the development, application, and management of technology, boosting our company’s growth and global reach, our team’s progress as well as our community’s”.
Its origin can be tracked back to 1978 at the construction company Benito Roggio e Hijos S.A., the first company of the Roggio Group, which was started in 1908. It was the need to include technologies which proved useful to the management and optimization of the business processes involved, which led to its creation.
Years later, with the arrival of the first computers to the country, and afterwards, with the advent of PC networks, the awareness arises to include applications which might speed up processes which up to the moment had been handled manually. This arrival of new technologies to the country brought about a paradigm change which implied the automation of processes which were traditionally managed manually: the transition from a single corporate computing machine to one computer per user (the introduction of the PC to the corporate world) and the management of a more complex technology infrastructure.
In 1985 Prominente S.A. starts to provide IT technology and support services, becoming a pioneer in the provision of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). This line of service was provided at first within the first companies which later became part of the Roggio Holding, supporting its diversification strategy.
Some years later, with the arrival of the Internet and the e-mail, Prominente S.A. consolidates its know-how and its IT support capacity by implementing these tools among customers within Argentina.
